[Single] Body Weapon

Posted in Announcements, Singles on February 3, 2010 by Anodyne

It’s the first Anodyne release of 2010!  Body Weapon is a straight up assault on the senses.  The driving neo-breakbeat rhythm is coupled with an absolutely punishing bassline to produce a relentless assault on the dancefloor.  Haunting pads and otherworldly atmospheres undulate beneath the surface and a classic progressive apeggio stabs away at the breakdown before dropping back into hard hard breaks again!  It’s got Anodyne written all over it.

Coming Out of Hibernation

Posted in Announcements, Uncategorized on January 12, 2010 by Anodyne

The first Anodyne EP is due to be released in mid February!  I’m working with the label to finalize artwork right now.  We’re aiming for five titles to be included in the release which will journey through territories with deep melodic undertones, hard beats, and precision basslines.

In other news, a new single is being prepped for release.  I’ve been working on a remix swap with another artist for the last month.  The result will be a collaborative release for both of us.  We each wrote one track, then swapped the stems to remix eachother’s work.  The two styles are very different and I’m excited to see how this comes out.

“Razor Wire Necktie” goes in for the kill with a stomping energetic bassline and an in-your-face 165BPM breakbeat.  Keep an ear out for this collab to release in mid to late February!

Finally, I’ve started to work on some old favorites again.  More than one of you have asked for proper releases of a few of my tracks and now that my plate is relatively clean I have some time to re-work them.  A few of these are over a year old and I’ve learned a lot since then so they’re getting some of the ‘ol TLC for a fresh makeover.  So far things are sounding amazing!  I can’t wait to hear these live!

The first track to be released is untitled, but I’ve thrown it down at every single gig I’ve played.  Experimental break-beat madness coupled with an absolutely insane bassline make this one of my all time favorites!

Busy Time

It’s been a while since I’ve updated anything here.  I’ve been hard at work on an EP, trying to get it ready for a New Year release.  Expect 5 tracks spanning a range of sonic styles from the subtle and emotional to vicious and devestating beats.

The tracks are all in the final stages.  I just have a few kinks to hammer out with the final mixdown.  Stay Tuned!

It’s my first official release!

misty

Slower, more thoughtful, and definitely less frantic/glitchy. This set is a departure from my normal work and I thought “what the heck, people may like it.” It may have been a great set, but it was the wrong place to play it. Decompression is filled with people who just want to party and dance and have a great time. Introspective, melodic musicians need not apply. I cleared that dancefloor out quick-style baby! WOO!!

Perfect for a cold rainy day though…

A double dose of Anodyne. Just what the doctor ordered.

IDMforums created their own netlabel a while back to feature the works of IDMforums members. What started as the free release of compilations has evolved into dedicated artist releases!

For the IDMf Netlabel’s second solo release comes IG88’s Mutual Mastication LP, a melodic delight filled with organic-sounding synths sweeping across an ocean of deep rhythms. The ambient textures of this album will leave the listener both happy and melancholic even after listening to it for the fiftieth time, as they will discover new layers to behold in each track — sounds which will echo in their minds as they continue their day. If the weather in Seattle made music…

I spent some time working on remastering my Burningman set last night. The operation was a complete success. Ozone 3 is by far the most impressive software mastering suite I’ve ever used. Enjoy!

2009 SF Burningman Decompression

Posted in Announcements on September 28, 2009 by Anodyne

It’s that time again folks. Now that the dust has finally settled it’s about time to head into SF for the annual decompression party. I look forward to this every year, but this year will be a little different. This year I’ll be doing a performance on one of the sound stages. Look for me on the Fashion Show stage just before the runway opens up for the models and designers. This should be happening sometime before sundown. More details to come.
